The state of Iowa continues to rank as the 30th most populous state in the nation, according to the Iowa Data Center, but is experiencing growth as of the 2016 state census.
Since 2010 the state has added 87,824 residents for a 2.9% increase, according to data provided to the State Data Center by the U.S. Census Bureau. The 2016 estimated population of the state is 3,134,693.
Population numbers for counties in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area as well as the rest of the state will be available in March.
