david-yepsen-iptv-mugshotThe Greene County Historical Society is kicking off their 2017 programs with a special free event this weekend.

Jefferson native David Yepsen will be the guest speaker this Sunday as he looks back on his political career. Yepsen will take over as the new host of Iowa Public Television’s Iowa Press show later this month. He is a 1968 graduate of Jefferson High School and after graduating from the University of Iowa in 1972, he spent the next 34 years covering politics for the Des Moines Register. He was also the director of the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute at Southern Illinois University from 2008 until 2016.

Yepsen will be at the Greene County Historical Museum in Jefferson at 2pm this Sunday. Refreshments will also be served. The event is free and open to the public.
