Spring cleaning doesn’t need to wait until spring.  The Guthrie County Extension office encourages residents to routinely clean out their deep freezers.

 

When doing so, the Extension office recommends checking for expiration dates and get rid of anything that looks moldy or bad.

 

It’s also recommended that you wipe down the freezer with one tablespoon of baking soda in one quart of water before you turn the freezer back on.

 

After the freezer has been on for 30 minutes, you can put your frozen items back inside
