Today we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and some offices and businesses are closed in Jefferson.

The Jefferson City Hall, Greene County Chamber, Greene County Extension office, the Jefferson Public Library and the Jefferson Post office are all closed today.

Library staff reminds everyone that nothing is due when it is closed for a holiday.

City staff reminds residents that due to the holiday, garbage routes will be delayed one day. Residents are reminded to have their garbage at curbside by 6am to ensure pick up.
