The Panorama basketball teams endured two games in two days starting with their Friday contests against West Central Valley and ended with a pair of non conference match ups against Nodaway Valley Saturday.
In their Friday conference match ups the Lady Panthers started the action and held a lead throughout the game against the Lady Wildcats. A 12-4 first quarter lead kept growing throughout the game ending with a 56-34 victory over their fellow Guthrie County foe. In their non conference match up, the Lady Panthers shut down Nodaway Valley through one quarter 13-0 which held up to a 22-13 halftime lead. From there the Lady Panther defense would hold Nodaway Valley to just 5 fourth quarter points to snag a 51-34 victory.
The Panther boys went 1-1 in that time span with their victory coming in their Friday conference contest against West Central Valley. The Panthers actually found themselves down in the vast majority of that game including down at the half 33-29. The Panthers would keep on fighting and after a persistent three quarters they made their move in the fourth outscoring the Wildcats 14-10 to take the 47-39 win. In the Saturday contest, the Panthers took on a three loss Wolverine team and it would prove to be a tough run for Panorama. They found themselves down 35-22 at the half and despite a strong 14 point third quarter, Nodaway Valley would edge out the Panthers 68-48. Gracen Welberg led the Panthers through those two games with 25 points.
Next on the docket for both girls and boys squads, weather permitting will be a Tuesday contest on the road taking on Earlham to start a three game road stand. Girls game stats it off at 6:00 pm followed by the boys game at 7:30 pm.
