This was to have been a three meet week for Coach Mark Sawhill’s Greene County wrestlers, but tonight’s scheduled double-dual has been postponed due to the weather. The Rams were scheduled to wrestled in Rockwell City tonight and face non-conference opponents South Central Calhoun and AC/GC, the combined Adair-Casey and Guthrie Center program, but Greene County Activities Director Dean Lansman notified Raccoon Valley Radio early this afternoon of the postponement.
That leaves Coach Mark Sawhill’s Greene County team with two meets this week. The Rams go to Story City on Thursday for a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference double-dual with Roland-Story and North Polk (Alleman), starting at 6 p.m.
North Polk hosts the HOIAC tournament in Alleman starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday the 21st.
The Rams are 7-12 overall in dual meets and 3-3 in the conference. Thursday’s dual meets are the last two HOIAC dual meets this season.
Greene County is coming off a sixth place finish among nine teams last Saturday in Eldora at the South Hardin/BCL-UW Storm Invitational. The Rams were led by senior Hunter Ruth’s second place finish at 220 lbs., and third place finishes for junior Cayden Gerdes (132) and senior Isaiah Yoder (182).
