Rain, cold temperatures and ice led to a messy Monday throughout the Raccoon River Valley. 

The morning commute, and for much of the day, secondary roads were up partially to completely covered with ice.  The storm cancelled school, closed offices and rescheduled activities across the area. 

Fortunately, with the advanced notice and Martin Luther King Jr. holiday there were less motorists on the roads than normal. 

There have been no reports of serious accidents in Dallas County.
