Greene County RamsThe 2016 Iowa School Report Card was recently released by the Iowa Department of Education.

The Iowa School Report Card is a rating system based on eight categories including student proficiency, college and career-ready growth, annual expected growth, closing achievement gap, college and career readiness, graduation rate, attendance and staff retention. Ratings are then given to individual buildings and results range from exceptional at the top, to priority at the low end

Greene County High School saw their rating drop from a commendable rating with 67.4 points out of 100 in 2015 to an acceptable rating with 65.2 points in 2016. The middle school stayed the same with their overall rating of acceptable and the elementary school improved their rating from acceptable up to commendable in 2016. The intermediate school didn’t have a rating, due to not having a complete year to gather data.

The highest rating for all three schools was attendance and the lowest for the high school and middle school was college and career readiness. The lowest rating for the elementary school was closing the gap for free or reduced priced lunch, individualized education programs and English language learner programs.
