A Jefferson man has been appointed to the Iowa Public Information Board.

Rick Morain was appointed to the Iowa Public Information Board by Governor Terry Branstad on Friday. The IPIB upholds Iowa’s law regarding open meetings and public records.

Morain joins E.J. Giovannetti of Urbandale and Julie Pottorff of Des Moines as the other appointees. The positions are unpaid and are subject to Senate confirmation.

Morain’s term will expire April 30, 2018.
