It’s an extra special night of West Central Valley Wildcat basketball tonight as both Wildcat teams enter back into conference play.
West Central Valley will be squaring off against not only a conference foe, but a Guthrie County foe welcoming in the ACGC Chargers. The game will also have a great cause attached as tonight’s contest will be Pink Out Night for Guthrie County Relay For Life.
It’s also a big night for both teams looking to keep pace with a tight conference race. The race is especially on for the Lady Wildcats who currently sit 4th in the conference standings with a 4-5 mark, looking to even it up tonight. The Lady Wildcats are winners of 2 out of their past three contests and certainly have the offensive firepower to make it 3 out of the past 4 tonight. West Central Valley sits third in the conference in points per game and while they have a solid scoring offense, it will be the defensive play that will headline the night as the Lady Wildcats have the most points allowed in the conference.
On the boys side of things, head coach Nick Peasley and his Wildcat squad seek to end their four game skid by picking up their fourth overall and third conference win on the season. The Wildcats did acquire a four point victory over the Chargers in their first meeting behind a 20 point performance from senior Logan Pruitt. They aim for a similar outcome as with a win, the Wildcats would acquire their first series sweep of the season.
Girls game tips off the action starting at 6:00 pm followed by the boys contest at 7:30 pm inside West Central Valley high school.
