The City of Perry is setting goals for the future.
City Administrator Sven Peterson says they recently held a planning meeting with University of Iowa Institute of Public Affairs Director Jeff Schott.
“Really that was to go over some of the accomplishments that we’ve made over the last like three years and how we want to continue to go forward with what we’re doing. Nothing is really set in stone, this is more of a guide for myself and the rest of our staff to kind of have an idea of what the Council is thinking and hoping for.”
Peterson says they came up with a list of their top priorities. This includes developing a contingency plan for the state backfill, figure out additional funding for severely blighted homes, explore hiring a community development specialist, developing a citizen satisfaction survey and updating the employee handbook and job descriptions.
The City will be putting together a plan of action and do quarterly or biannual progress reports.
