Greene Co School Board 1_18The Greene County School Board met Wednesday night in regular session.

The Board decided to not appoint an individual to the vacant school board seat, but to have a special election instead. The School District must wait 30 days after the resignation of Ashley Johnston before a special election date can be set with the County Auditor’s office.

The Board then approved the grievance and complaint form and waived the second required reading.

The Board then heard a proposal from the high school animal science class to use the old greenhouse as an animal science laboratory. Students could then raise poultry and produce eggs. The Board approved the proposal as presented.

The Board then approved the school improvement advisory committee assignments as presented and set February 15th as the public hearing for the 2017-18 school calendar.

Finally, Superintendent Tim Christensen mentioned that they will put out for bid the addition to the elementary by the end of January.
