Today is the official start to the finale of the 2016-2017 regular season for the ADM wrestling team as they send it off in style with the Raccoon River Conference wrestling tournament in Adel.

Starting at 10:00 this morning, ADM welcomes in the rest of the RRC field to the north gym. The Tigers walk into the day as the reigning conference champions from a season prior and are one of only three conference teams to yield a wrestler inside the top ten rankings. ADM wields class 2A’s 7th ranked 106 lb wrestler Andrew Flora, while the Perry Blue Jays roll out the most with three ranked wrestlers in Kelb Olejniczak-3rd at 113 lbs, Zach Thompson-6th at 120 lbs, and Zach Stewart-8th at 138 lbs.

The Ballard Bombers bring two ranked wrestlers to the table including 145 lb returning champion Tate Battani, ranked as the 6th ranked wrestler in that weight class. He is accompanied by fellow Ballard wrestler Skyler Noftsger entering the day as the highest ranked individual wrestler in the tournament, 2nd overall in the 138 lb weight class. Carroll rounds out the individual ranked wrestlers with 182 lb 8th ranked Elijha Dirkx.

ADM yields a 2-6 dual meet mark against the Raccoon River conference this season but do return as the reigning champions from last year by a 39 point margin. Tournament set up will take place at 8:00 am this morning while the conference tournament commencement with a full day of wrestling at 10:00 am in the north gym.
