The Greene County Chamber annual dinner was held Sunday night at the Greene Room events center at Wild Rose in Jefferson.
About 80 people attended the event, which celebrated several Chamber achievements in 2016. Those achievements include welcoming 20 new Chamber members, selling more than $40,000 in Chamber bucks, booking over 70 tours and the Greene County Ambassadors making 12 business visits.
Another highlight was the recipient of the Above and Beyond the Call Award. The 2016 winner was Gary Von Ahsen. The award is given to an individual who through their involvement, leadership qualities and unselfish giving of time and talent, positively affects others. He told Raccoon Valley Radio about what receiving the ABC Award meant for him.

“Well it’s just something I do. It’s just innate in me. I like to serve other people and see the benefits from that both in my family, the community and my church. It’s just one of those things I guess I just do.”
Other highlights were recognizing Eye Care Associates for their 25-year Chamber membership milestone and voting for the slate of Chamber Board officers for 2017. They include President Ora Stevens, Vice-President Vicky Woodford and Treasurer Gary Jensen.
The evening ended with entertainment from comedian and hypnotist Z*Stonish.
