Last night the Panorama Panther boys and girls basketball teams were in action as they started off the week with a road trip to Woodward-Granger high school. The Lady Panthers used a full four quarter game to come away with a win 53-41 while the Panther boys team faltered thanks to a low scoring first half as the hawks would take the boys game 87-69.

In the girls contest, the Lady Panthers were looking for their 5th series sweep on the season taking on a Woodward-Granger squad whom they defeated 57-26 back on December 20th. The game started off in normal fashion with Panorama up at the end of one quarter 15-10 but was shockingly outscored by one point in the second quarter 9-8, however the Lady Panthers still led at the halftime break 24-19. That lead would then balloon into a 38-33 third quarter lead where the Lady Panthers would seal the win thanks to outscoring Woodward-Granger 15-8 in the final quarter. The Lady Panthers now improve to 18-1 on the season, 14-1 inside conference play.

As for the boys contest, the Panther boys squad would find themselves in a tale of two halves. It was a more than inauspicious start for Panorama down 18-6 after one quarter and 43-17 at the halftime intermission. The second half would see the scripts flipped as Panorama put on one of their better second half performances of the season pouring in 26 third and fourth quarter points, but the problem was, the Panthers did not have enough to overcome the halftime deficit and they would fall. Defensively the Panthers had little answer for the combo of Marcus McConahay with 20 points and Bryce Achenbach with 18 points on the night. With the loss, Panorama now drops to 5-14 overall with a 5-10 conference mark.

Next up for the Panther teams will be a Friday contest this week as they hit the road to square off in Ogden.
