The Greene County Rams go to Monroe tomorrow night for Heart of Iowa Activities Conference boys’ basketball vs. PCM. It’s the final HOIAC game of the season for both teams and Greene County still has a mathematical chance to tie South Hamilton (Jewell) for first place in the conference, but needs a win vs. PCM and an upset victory by North Polk over SH in Alleman on Friday night for that to happen.

The Rams are 13-6 overall and 12-3 in the league and PCM is 10-10 overall and 9-6 in conference play. Greene County used a 26-0 scoring run in the second half on Jan. 30 to down the Mustangs in Jefferson 80-58.

Coach Chris Nelson’s team went 6-5 at home this season, but has a 7-1 road record including a perfect 7-0 in conference games away from Jefferson. The Rams won in Gilbert on Feb. 7 by a 64-55 final after Gilbert won in Jefferson on Jan. 6 by a score of 68-62 in overtime.

Coverage of Friday night’s varsity game from Monroe starts at 7:10 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. The two ninth grade teams play at 4:30 p.m., followed by a JV game, then the varsity contest.
