It’s a busy day to say the least for ACGC athletics today as both the wrestling and girls basketball teams commence with postseason play.

The Saturday action for ACGC begins with the Charger wrestling team as they follow six individual wrestlers to Underwood in the district 7 tournament. Easton Benson (106 lbs) will go first taking on Underwood’s Zane Ziegler while Blaine Beeler will square off against class 1A’s 5th ranked 113 lb wrestler in Underwood’s Logan James. Fellow Charger Zachary Fees will also run into a top ranked wrestler in Tatem Bluml of Oakland/Riverside. Gabe Rowley will one up both Fees and Beeler by taking on the top ranked 126 lb wrestler in Alex Thompson who has yet to lose a match all season. Logan Scheuermann will represent the Chargers in the 145 lb weight class as he defends his 9th place ranking against Tri-Center’s Jeremy Miller. Cade Suhr will round out the Charger wrestlers in the 220 lb weight class taking on Clarinda Academy’s Walker Hollenbeck.

The district 7 tournament commences this afternoon in Underwood beginning at noon.

Finally it will be the ACGC Lady Charger basketball team to finish off the athletic festivities tonight when they commence with postseason play in Corning. There head coach James Blythe and the Lady Chargers will take on Southwest Valley beginning at 7:00 pm.
