It wasn’t the type of weekend the Perry basketball team had hoped for.  Just hours after finding out they had earned one of the top 4 seeds in the upcoming substate tournament, Perry was upset by last place Bondurant Farrar Friday night 65-51 and blasted by Carroll at home Saturday 72-52.

Perry trailed 28-26 at halftime Friday night only to watch Bondurant come out and score the first 8 in the second half to build a double digit lead.  Perry could come no closer than 7 points in the second half.  Janier Puente led Perry with 21 points.

Puente and Kyle Nevitt paced Perry Saturday with 20 and 16 points respectively but proved to be no match for the long range shooting of Carroll.  The Tigers scored an impressive 41 points in the first half.

Shawn Kenney will have play by play coverage on KDLS of Perry’s next game Tuesday night when the Bluejays host Greene County at the PSP.
