Seniors many times lead the way for high school sports teams and that was the case for the Greene County boys under Head Coach Chris Nelson. The Rams finished the 2016-17 with a 14-8 record and they were second in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference at 13-3.

Eight of the 14 players with varsity uniforms were seniors including four-year starter Trey Tucker. He finished with 1,811 career points, most for any boy in a Jefferson-based program. Tucker averaged nearly 25 points a game this season and 21 for his career. Other seniors were Anthony Jacobsen, Thomas Jacobsen, Jon Kersey, Logan Lansman, Calvin Skalla, Chase Stoline, and Jon Strabley.

Three starters return in junior Wade Adcock, plus sophomores Trey Hinote and Lance Hughes.
