The Stuart Public Library hosted a viewing of the Centennial celebration in 1970 on Tuesday.  Super 8 film of the parade held during the celebration gave many visitors the chance to remember the day and many of the people who were involved. Attendees recollected a beard growing contest, costume contest and the many businesses and clubs represented by floats. The 150th or sesquicentennial anniversary of Stuart’s founding will be in 2020.
