Jefferson Matters: Main Street is looking for a business to submit for this year’s Open 4 Business contest.

It is sponsored by Main Street Iowa and Iowa Economic Development Authority’s Downtown Resource Center. Applicants that qualify are those in the Main Street district. An entrepreneur could win as much as $28,000 to either launch or expand on a business that would benefit the local economy.

Applicants must submit an application, a short film outlining how their business idea will benefit the local economy and provide a 25 percent match. Only one application will represent Jefferson at the sub-state competition, where the winner will receive $8,000 and advance onto the state contest, where the prize money is $20,000.

Applications must be submitted to the Jefferson Matters: Main Street office before April 6th. A link to the form can be found below.
