Ryan BrownA Jefferson man faces several felony charges following an alleged assault last month.

Police Captain Heath Enns says 44 year-old Ryan James Brown was arrested just after 2pm on Saturday, February 18th in the 800 block of West Wall Street. He is charged with Class C Felonies for second degree burglary and willful injury and Class D Felonies for assault while participating in a felony and second degree criminal mischief.

Brown allegedly got into a verbal argument with a male tenant at one of Brown’s rental properties in the 700 block of West Mahlon Street on January 27th. The argument then turned physical when Brown entered the property with a baseball bat and broke a few windows. It was reported that he left and came back again with a long stick with a sharp edge on the end in a threatening manner to the male occupant.

When an officer arrived on scene, Brown was bleeding from his head and told the officer he was going to be taken to Greene County Medical Center. The officer allowed him to leave, but Brown then jumped out of the moving vehicle a few blocks down the road.

Brown was then arrested on warrants from the police department.

He was booked and released from the Greene County jail.
