A new business is having a soft opening this week in downtown Jefferson.

New Hope Bargain Shoppe is located on the west side of the square, where Ben Franklin used to be.

Manager Lisa Willis says New Hope is a variety store that sells donated items like clothing, bedding, curtains, books, kitchen items and several other items. Funds raised are then used to provide high-quality services to the individuals they serve. Willis adds that she started to receive donations last month and she appreciated the response from those who have donated and the volunteers to help run the store.

Willis is also the manager of New Hope in Perry. She is co-manage both locations and will be at the Perry location once a week.

New Hope in Jefferson is the company’s fifth location, with the others in Coon Rapids, Manning and their base business in Carroll.
