The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference has two teams in this weeks’ girls’ State basketball tournament, and they’ll have one boys’ team at State next week.

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union hosts the six-day State Tournament today through Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Two Heart of Iowa teams will be in action tomorrow. PCM (Monroe) (20-4) faces Sioux Center (24-0) at 11:45 a.m. in a Class 3A quarterfinal. Nevada (22-1) meets North Scott (Eldridge) (18-5) in a 4A quarterfinal at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. Nevada won the HOIAC girls’ title with PCM placing second.

Greene County lost twice to each of the conference’s State qualifying schools. By conference rule, all-conference selections cannot be released until all HOIAC schools have ended their seasons.
