The final Get Connected! event is happening next week in Jefferson.
Organizer Pat Heinrichs says their third installment is called Work It! The event involves different businesses and information for those looking to make a change in their career or just getting a job in the county.
Six businesses will be on hand to talk about their employment needs and current jobs openings. The businesses include John Deere in Paton, Scranton Manufacturing, American Athletic Incorporated/Spalding/Russell Brand Athletics, Jefferson Telecom, Wild Rose Entertainment and Home State Bank. Other resources include Amber Casebeer with Iowa Workforce Development and Teresa Green with Greene County High School will help individuals with writing resumes.
Employment applications from several businesses in the county will also be available for people to fill out or take home.
Work It! will be held at the elementary school in Jefferson on Monday, March 6th. It starts with a free beefburger meal in the cafeteria at 6pm. All other activities are from 6:30 to 8pm. There will be free childcare and kid activities to do for kids in grades 4th through 12th.
The event is free and open to the public. It is made possible through a mini-grant from Community 4 Children.
