Last night the ADM Tiger basketball team officially brought the 2016-17 season to a close with their awards night banquet.

Fans, coaches, and family alike honored a Tigers squad who ended the season with a 12-11 record through a grueling schedule that was ranked the 11th toughest schedule in class 3A.

In all there were 16 letter winners on the night, 7 were awarded to seniors, 8 were awarded to juniors, and one letter winner belonged to the sophomore variety. In the senior group, some of the multiple year letter winners included Tajen Ross who led the conference in scoring by a 3.5 point margin ending his Tiger tenure with two 33 point games. Payton Conrad earned his second varsity basketball letter after another solid season where he posted 112 assists ranking him 9th in all class 3A. ADM’s buzzer beating three star Jared Sapp was also a two year letter winner to match Carter Nordman. Stemming from his sophomore campaign where he led ADM in scoring, Matt Larson earned his third year varsity letter which was matched with Sam McCartney also earning his third.

It was definitely a season of ups and downs but in the end held many more positives as the Tigers held a class 3A top ten scorer in Tajen Ross who averaged 22 points per game. That hasn’t been the case for ADM since Wes Nordquist accomplished that feat back in the 2008-2009 season. Adding onto that, this year’s Tiger team as a group found their way inside the top ten of class 3A teams in three point percentage before they bowed out of the postseason. That was a feat the Tigers had not accomplished since the 2007-2008 season.  The Tigers were one of the more sure handed teams in class 3A ending their season ranked 8th in class 3A in fewest turnovers.
