matt-wetrichAs we draw closer to the special Greene County School Board election on Tuesday, today we meet the second candidate, Matt Wetrich.

The Fairfield native has been living in Jefferson for the past ten years. He works as a Carroll County Conservation Naturalist, where he is an environmental educator. As a naturalist, Wetrich collaborates with several entities, which he thinks could bring a different view to the school board.

“I’d like to come in with a fresh perspective, be a real positive light, bring a positive attitude in (and)  looking forward to bigger and better things. Try to help gel community, administration, faculty and all of that for the betterment of our kids. I think the school district is a real source of pride for a lot of our communities and has a great potential to help our community gel like I said.”

He would like to see more parental involvement with kids in school and activities, along with more collaboration between parents and teachers in the school district.

Matt is married to Toni and they have six kids.
