A couple dozen people stopped by the new Snap Fitness location in Perry yesterday for an open house and ribbon cutting.

The new facility includes several amenities that are new to the area, including a Fitness on Demand studio that offers hundreds of workout programs and classes at the touch of member’s fingertips.

Owner Cherie Welch says they’re really enjoying the new space.

“We’re really excited to be out here in this new spot.  It’s a much better location, we feel, so hopefully we can grow with the community hopefully growing.  (Locals can get) all the things they can get in the metro here, which is nice now with the Fitness on Demand room, to bring some more life to this side (of Perry).”

Perry Chamber Director Bob Wilson says he was happy with the turnout and is excited for the Welch’s.

“To see the new facility and see how happy Cherie was and how proud she is of the facility. And to bring other people in, maybe people that aren’t working out right now or maybe haven’t gone in there.  It’s really fun to see their reaction.  (The facility) is beautiful.”

The new location is at 509 1st Avenue in Perry.
