It was a great memory for the players and coaches last summer and it’s those memories which are serving as a motivation for a lot of the Perry softball players as they continue with indoor hitting and fundamentals during these chilly spring days. The Jayettes are hoping to get back to the state tournament this summer as they return a strong nucleus of players including senior Rachel Kinney.
“Absolutely, it serves as a motivation,” smiled the power hitting right fielder. “State was so much fun and I know I want to go back one more time before I graduate and I know all our girls want to go even further. I think we definitely found out what it’s like to play in front of a large crowd and to just play our game and not let the crowd sway how we play.”
The Perry girls go through indoor hitting and fielding drills each weekend along with utilizing the batting cages on their own personal time in an effort to stay sharp for the rapidly approaching season.
