A Dana woman was recently sentenced in court for an August incident.
According to court documents, 24 year-old Kristen Abbie Langfitt was sentenced to one year of informal probation with the Greene County Sheriff’s office after pleading guilty to an amended charge of an aggravated misdemeanor for third degree burglary. She was originally charged with a felony for forgery.
The judgement stems from an investigation that began on August 10, 2016. An Urbandale man called the Jefferson Police Department claiming that a check was deposited from his account at Wells Fargo into Langfitt’s account at Home State Bank. The deposit was made on June 13th. Langfitt’s cell phone records were obtained to verify the transaction.
She was also ordered to pay over $1,500 in civil penalties, victim restitution, law enforcement surcharges and court costs.
