A Kids Club program at the Mary J. Barnett Public Library in Guthrie Center will give students something to do on early out days from school this spring. The first one is being held today.
Assistant Director Ronda Weber says it’s important for kids to have something productive to do at these times.
“We want children to have something to do besides play computer games or watch tv. Many children don’t have the resources at home to do these kinds of crafts and activities and expand their horizons.”
Weber says the program is open to students kindergarten through 12th grade and will regularly begin at 2:30pm on early out days, but due to a change in the school’s “early out” schedule the first “Kids’ Club” will be held after school until 4:30pm. Students will be doing an art project with perler beads.
