We are drawing closer to the Perry Chamber’s main fundraiser event for their fireworks in July.

Executive Director Bob Wilson says there’s lots going on during the fundraiser on April 6th. Activities include a pie auction at the KDLS studio, as well as being at Hy-Vee from 5 to 8am and then in front of Hotel Pattee from 8 to 9am raising money for this year’s fireworks display. Wilson points out what he wants his goal to be, after not achieving the $15,000 goal they had last year.

“So I think we should hit it at $20,000 this year and actually attain it. But hey, we’ll see. It all goes to your fireworks, it’s all for your 4th of July. It’s a fun fundraiser, but it is a fundraiser, so we have to be out there, we have to be in your face and we’re going to try and do that with a few incentives.”

The Chamber is also planning to get a friendly-competition going between Hy-Vee and Fareway as well.
