A local Jefferson business has been named as one of Iowa’s top burgers.

The Iowa Beef Industry Council recently released their top ten best burgers in Iowa list and Jefferson’s Doc’s Stadium Bar and Grill is one of the honorees. The announcement comes after a record number of restaurants across the state, 487, submitted more than 9,200 nominations.

To determine who has the best burger overall in Iowa for 2017, a panel of anonymous judges will visit each restaurant and evaluate the burgers on taste, appearance and proper doneness of 160 degrees. The winner will be announced on May 1st.

This is the first time Doc’s Stadium has been a finalist for the award. Last year, Adair’s Chuckwagon took home the top prize.
