The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

During open forum, Environmental Health Administrator Chuck Wenthold told the Board that road construction for the Mid-American wind turbine project will start next month and the towers will arrive starting in June. Following a discussion, the Board agreed that Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams should apply for Louis Dreyfus funds to partially fund replacing the front desk glass partition with bullet-proof glass.

The Board then approved the first reading to set 20 ordinances for the Greene County Code of Ordinances finalization, as well as the County Treasurer’s investment report of $4,822,818 and issuing 160 driver’s licenses in February. Finally, County Engineer Wade Weiss said the bells for the Mahanay Bell Tower are due to arrive in mid-May to be re-installed for the four-octave carillon. He also reported that the overpass bridge in Grand Junction is still on schedule to be replaced with the start date of April 3rd.
