After a more than solid start to the 2017 season on Monday, the Panorama Panther track and field teams will be following that up as they converge on the Perry High School Coed Invitational tomorrow.

Both teams will seek to replicate last year’s performances which for the Lady Panthers, ended in a first place team finish. The Lady Panthers walked away from last year’s coed meet with an impressive body of work that earned them 143 team point to take first place. The body of work consisted of 21 top five finishes with six of those being of the first place variety. If history repeats itself with Panorama tomorrow, the Lady Panthers could walk away with an outcome that might include 10 personal bests and nine events that ended with season best performances. Similar to the Lady Panther basketball team, the Panther girls track team will head into the early season with no seniors on the roster comprised of 6 freshmen, 12 sophomores, and 7 juniors.

As for the Panther boys track and field team, they will be on the hunt to better their fourth place team finish in Perry last year. The Panther boys had 12 top five finishes comprised of two first place winners, one of which returns this season in Panorama’s discuss record holder Matt Webner. Just like the Lady Panthers, the Panorama boys track team will also be wielding a rather youthful roster comprised of 12 freshmen, 7 sophomores, 9 juniors, and just 3 seniors.

Panorama hits the tracks tomorrow afternoon inside the Jim Kaufman track stadium in Perry beginning at 4:30 pm.
