This weekend spring sports at ADM high school picked up the action as the Lady Tiger golf team along with first year head coach Kelly Roder initiated their first meet of the season.

On Saturday coach Roder and the Lady Tigers took the drive to Norwalk where they battled it out against a 5 team field comprised of Carlisle, Des Moines Lincoln, Des Moines East, Dallas Center-Grimes and host Norwalk. Certainly a tough field to go up against but the Lady Tigers answered the challenge taking third overall as a team with a score of 217. The only two teams ahead of the Lady Tigers were Norwalk with 207 and Dallas Center-Grimes taking first with a team score of 187.

Individually, it didn’t take long for returning state qualifier Lindsey Lang to get back into the swing of things as she led ADM on the day with a nine hole score of 41. That score for Lang was littered with many great performances highlighted by hole 8 where she breezed through the 225 yard hole and buried a six foot put for eagle. The 41 for Lang not only earned her the top spot on the team but also placed her as a medalist for the meet overall.

Bailey Danner notched the second lowest score on the day shooting 49 followed by Kaylee Wheeler shooting 57 and rounded out with Emily Neumann with a nine whole score of 66.

Coach Roder mentioned to Raccoon Valley Radio how the meet was a good start to the season and the 217 team score is a good score to build on as the Lady Tigers look to peak at the end of the season.

Up next for the Lady Tiger golf team, they will be converging with the Tiger boys golf team this Thursday in Nevada for a coed meet at Indian Creek Country Club. Both teams will tee off at 2:00 with the Lady Tigers facing Ballard, Nevada, North Polk, and Webster City while the Tiger boys will take on Nevada, North Polk, and Webster City.
