While mother nature did push back the start of the new season for the ADM boys soccer team, she wasn’t able to stop them from becoming the highest ranked Raccoon River Conference team in the latest class 2A rankings.

Earlier this week, the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association released their week one rankings for each of the three boys soccer classes and within the top ten reside the Tigers at number 7. The Raccoon River Conference shows it’s strength with two more conference teams in the top 15 with Perry right behind ADM ranked 8th while fellow powerhouse Winterset slides in as the 12th ranked team in class 2A. Currently the top spot in the 2A rankings belongs to reigning champion Norwalk.

Last year all three RRC teams consistently battled inside the top 15 rankings all season and when the regular season ended, it was Perry to lead the trio ranked 8th followed by ADM ranked 10th and Winterset ranked 11th. Among the conference trio, ADM was the conferences only representative to the state tournament.

ADM’s road for a repeat trip to the Cownie Soccer Complex will start in a big way today as the Tigers welcome in 2A 13th ranked Waverly-Shell Rock and class 1A 8th ranked St. Alberts Council Bluffs along with class 3A Des Moines East for a weekend tournament in Adel.

Today the slate of games includes Des Moines East vs. Waverly-Shell Rock at 6:00 pm followed ADM’s season opener against Council Bluffs St. Alberts at 7:30 pm
