Jefferson Police DeptA Jefferson man faces a felony for burglary.

Police Chief Mark Clouse says officers were called to the 400 block of West State Street just before 1:30pm on Sunday about an alleged burglary that was taking place.

Officers found forcible entry through the front door and gathered evidence including where jewelry was missing. Officers then talked to the victims about a recent rash of burglaries and the victims mentioned a relationship with one of the possible suspects. At 6pm, 53 year-old Robert Fry spoke with officers at the law enforcement center. He had returned the jewelry to the victims. Officers then conducted a consent search of Fry’s home in the 200 block of South High Street. Items recovered included suspected narcotics and narcotic-related items. Following the search, arrest warrants were filed for Fry.

He is charged with a Class D Felony for third degree burglary, an aggravated misdemeanor for his second offense for possession of marijuana and a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia, along with a probation violation charge from a domestic abuse conviction earlier in the year. Clouse notes that additional charges are pending with other burglary incidents involving Fry.

Once Fry is arrested, he will be booked into the Greene County jail.
