Greene County students continue to shine as the school year winds down.

Ten high school students recently competed at the Iowa Physics Competition at the University of Northern Iowa. The team placed seventh out of 20 schools. The top finishers were Logan Kohl and John Mobley earning fifth place in the challenge problem event, Reid Stratton and Jared Marshall placed seventh in the bridge building event and Megan Durbin and Rachael Danielson received eighth place for the catapult event. Greene County qualified for the state contest by winning their regional competition.

Pre-kindergarten through third graders also received free books through the Ram Readers program. There are four distribution times throughout the school year that elementary students receive free books. The money that is used to purchase the books initially is from donations that are collected in the community throughout the year.
