The week ended off at home Thursday afternoon for the ACGC Lady Charger track and field team hosting the Lady Charger Invitational.

It was a gauntlet of a 12 team field and through it all, head coach Dave Spratte saw his girls squad push through to snag a third place team finish with a point total of 122. PCM took the number two spot on the day with 128 points while Panorama’s 144 point total earned them sole possession of fist place.

After her absence from the track Tuesday, Savana Fuller was all suited up yesterday. She made up for her earlier absence in a big way by pacing the Lady Chargers with 24 points highlighted by another round of fist place finishes in both the 100 and 200 meter dash events.

Kate Crawford would come close to taking the top spot in the 800 meter run but did take the crown in the 1500 with a time of 5:09.83 while Emma Swanson was not too far behind Crawford with a third place finishing time of 5:29.97. Olivia Laabs continues on her solid season after yesterday where she placed 5th in the 100 meter hurdles and up that in the 400 meter hurdles taking 3rd (1:11.87).

For the third straight meet, Madison McDermott would obtain a top finish in the shot put with a toss of 36′-06.25″.

ACGC’s 4 x 800 meter relay team of Emma Swanson, Sara Schmeling, Lauryn Embleton, and Kate Crawford breezed by the competition almost a full 30 seconds ahead of second place Nodaway Valley. The second team relay event to take first for ACGC was the 4 x 200 team comprised of Olivia Laabs, Mady Smith, Sara Schmeling, and Savana Fuller with a time of 1:50.50.

Next up for the Lady Chargers they will be opening up the week next Monday with a trip to Bondurant-Farrar.
