The slate is full today for ADM athletics and here is how it breaks down:
First off the tee will be the ADM girls golf squad as they begin their weeks action by taking in a conference triangular in Huxley at the Ballard Golf & Country Club. There host Ballard high school will welcome in the Tigers along with fellow conference rival Bondurant-Farrar. Among the three teams, ADM’s own Lindsey Lang will be the only returning state qualifier from last year’s state meet. The meet between the Lady Bombers, Lady Jays, and Lady Tigers will tee off this afternoon beginning at 4:00 pm.
Next up on the list will be boys and girls track teams with both traveling on the road to separate venues. Coach Bart Mueller and the Lady Tigers will have a quick turnaround from yesterday’s Ram Relays and will take on the DC-G Fillie Invitational at Dallas Center-Grimes stadium. The Lady Tigers will run up against a 8 team field comprised of Carlisle, Ballard, Creston, host Dallas Center-Grimes, Earlham, Norwalk, Grinnell, and Saydel. Field events will start things off at 4:45 followed by the running events at 5:00 pm. As for the Tiger boys squad their road trip will take them to Huxley running it out against a 10 team field including BCLUW, Ballard, Carlisle, Collins-Maxwell-Baxter, Creston, DC-G, Gilbert, North Polk, Roland-Story, South Hamilton. Their meet will also begin at 5:00 pm.
The day will then end off with a non conference road match up for the ADM Tiger boys soccer team. The current class 2A 11th ranked Tigers squad will take on Heart Of Iowa Conference member Gilbert Tigers. Gilbert also boasts a top 15 ranking but reside within class 1A’s top rankings at 14. ADM comes off a 4-1 victory over Knoxville last Thursday putting their record currently at 3-2 against a 3-1 Gilbert team fresh off of a 3-2 loss to former ADM conference rival Dallas Center-Grimes. The Tigers squared match up begins at 7:00 pm this evening in Gilbert.
