Yesterday afternoon, just after the final bells announced the end of the school day, ADM baseball star Jack O’Brian put pen to paper and took the next big step in his athletic career by signing to play for the Northwest Missouri State baseball team next season.
After all was said and done, Raccoon Valley Radio got the chance to speak with the talented senior on why he chose to be a Bearcat next season.
“I just really like the culture there. It’s a winning culture and every time I go there I feel like I belong on the campus. It’s a lot more than just sports. The schooling side of it I really enjoy and I think it’ll be a great place for me,” stated Jack.

Being the humble athlete he is, Jack was quick to thank some of the most influential people in his life such as his grandparents, parents, friends, and ADM head baseball coach Jason Book. Raccoon Valley Radio asked O’Brian how much coach Book has helped him become the player he is today and he was not hesitant to say just how influential coach has been throughout the college process.
“A lot, back to my sophomore year he (coach Book) game me a lot of good advice about looking at colleges and what to improve on and make better looks. He told me my sophomore year to find the school that I like and then let the baseball follow and that’s how I ended up at Northwest. It’s the school that I want to go to and the baseball team will be good for me,” explained O’Brian
As for his senior baseball season, it’s T-minus one week away before O’Brian and the rest of the ADM baseball team will commence with first practices of the 2017 season.
