Food Bank

The Dallas County mobile food pantry is returning to Perry tomorrow.

From 4-6 p.m. at the Dallas County Hospital north parking lot, representatives from the Food Bank of Iowa will be distributing items to local people in need. One of the Food Bank’s trucks will deliver a customized load of food that includes produce, meat, bread, and non-perishable items. Local volunteers will set up a distribution system similar to a farmers market.

The goal of the mobile food pantry is to provide a flexible food assistance resource in locations that don’t have access to traditional resources. The Food Bank also uses it as a good location for things like rental assistance or job training information.

The mobile food bank will be back in Perry on May 6th at the Crossroads Church from 9-10:30 a.m. Other upcoming Dallas County locations include Dallas Center on May 4th from 4-6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, and Adel on May 22nd from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at New Hope Youth Center.
