Two Perry women are in police custody after a burglary attempt Tuesday afternoon.
According to the police report, just before 2 p.m., they received a report of a burglary in progress in the 500 block of 2nd Street. The caller reported seeing two women enter through a window and go around the garage. Officers responded and apprehended 33-year-old Nicole Spence and Christina Steil.
Both were charged with third-degree burglary, a class D felony. Spence was also charged with public intoxication-second offense, a serious misdemeanor. Additionally, Steil was charged with possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia, all serious misdemeanors.
They were transported to the Dallas County Jail, where they are still in custody each on $5,000 bond. They had their initial individual court appearances Wednesday morning.
