GCMC Board 4_27The Greene County Medical Center Board of Trustees met Thursday.

The Board reviewed the financial report. At the end of March, the hospital’s month-to-date revenues were $1,794,808 and expenses totaled $2,099,007. The hospital was operating at a $147,702 loss. Chief Financial Officer Mark VanderLinden said even though they are still operating at a loss, it was better than last quarter’s loss of $350,000. He pointed out that everyone is tightening their expenses, which is causing the decrease in their losses. Additionally, there were 56 patient days in March, 63 skilled care days and a total of 25 admissions last month. The medical center is operating at a $2,405,286 loss for the fiscal year so far.

VanderLinden then gave a separate oncology department financial report. Since the department started nine months ago, it has brought in a net gain of $259,205, with a projected $345,000 net gain by the end of the fiscal year.

The Board then approved the hospital’s strategic plan as presented and an annual contract with Aramark to manage the medical center’s environmental, facilities and nutrition services.
