Yesterday the baseball season began anew as the ADM Tiger baseball team began with first practices.

The Tigers may have been in a rebuilding mode last season but 2017 brings about a lot of positivity as ADM comes back with a solid returning nucleus and another year under their collective belts.

The Tigers return four out of the top five run producers from last season and all top five batting averages from last year’s squad. At the top of that list includes future Northwest Missouri State Bearcat Jack O’Brian who returns his team leading team leading 18 RBI’s, .333 batting average, and .414 slugging percentage. Fellow infielder and talented bat Dalton Hews returns transformed from an underclassmen to an upperclassmen returning his .316 batting average from a year prior.

Head coach Jason Book aims to wield his group of primarily juniors and seniors to overcome some of the hurdles that plagued ADM last season with 11 games decided by two runs or less.

The Tigers will get to open up the 2017 season in style laying host to Des Moines Roosevelt for the season and home opener on May 23rd.
