Practices for the 2017 high school baseball and softball seasons are underway. Tom Kennedy is the head softball coach and Mark Sawhill is the head coach for baseball.

The softball Rams have had nine consecutive winning seasons with Coach Kennedy at the helm. All but two starters return from the 2016 team that went 16-14 overall. Sophomore Megan Carey was  a second team Heart of Iowa Activities Conference outfielder, while senior pitcher Hannah Promes and sophomore shortstop Jenna Beyers are back after both were honorable mention all-conference selections a season ago.

The baseball Rams were 11-17 last season and return seven starters including two with all-conference honors last season. Junior Tom Gannon was a first team all-conference catcher and sophomore Austin Delp was on the honorable mention list after being the top pitcher on the team hitting over .300.

Both Greene County teams start their seasons on the road on May 22 vs. PCM. Softball is in Monroe and baseball will be played in Prairie City.
