The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday in regular session.

The Council approved the first reading to amend an ordinance to allow preschools and child care centers as special exceptions in a holding district, following a public hearing on the topic. The Council then awarded a $741,365 contract to Pinnacle Construction for the Community Development Block Grant downtown revitalization project.

Additionally, the Council approved to waive a plat of survey review in lots three and four of section 31. The property is three-quarters north of Wild Rose and outside the corporate city limits, but within two miles of the City.

Finally, the Council approved a letter of support to rename the Highway 4 overpass bridge in Jefferson to Greene County Veterans and First Responders Memorial Bridge.
