This year’s Greene County Fair might be two months away, but registrations are going on now for county fair queen candidates.

Organizer Ann Cunningham says qualified applicants must be female, between the ages of 16 and 21, never married and have no children. Candidates must also be in at least worthwhile organization such as a sport, fine arts, civic or service organizations. The pageant will take place on Friday, July 14th of the fair. The winner will receive a crown and a sash. They will also represent Greene County at the Iowa State Fair for the state fair queen contest.

Applications are available at Greene County and Paton-Churdan High School offices, Greene County Extension and at Mumma and Peterson Law Firm in Jefferson. The deadline to sign up is May 22nd. Applications can be submitted to Cunningham at Mumma and Peterson at 114 South Wilson Avenue.
