Wednesday evening, the Lincoln Savings Bank held a ribbon-cutting event in Adel to welcome the community to their new facility.

Branch Manager Tim Canney said the new location broke ground around nine months ago, and he was pleased the construction went so quickly. The original location was on the square in Adel, but Canney said they were ready to move to a bigger location. “Yeah, we started almost like an experiment, really. We started with a branch that had no ATM, no drive through, no safe deposit boxes. Some of the normal things you’d see in a bank, and we’ve just had some success. We put the right team together, we’re able to do well in this community and so we were able to talk them into building a new bank for us.”

There was some concern about the weather, with scattered thunderstorms in the area for most of the day. However, by the time the celebration started, the weather had cleared up. The festivities included a performance by local singer Chad Elliott, balloon animals, bank tours, and free food provided by Master Grillers. The Raccoon Valley Radio Big Red Radio broadcasted live from Lincoln Savings Bank for the ribbon-cutting.
